To support any research that leads to the restoration of coastal marine living resources, the Tidal Basin Foundation was partnered to provide research grants for young researchers.

We widely solicited research related to the following and selected 20 young researchers. We are promoting their research.
Ecological research on seaweeds and seagrasses
Research on monitoring, restoration, and utilization of marine living resources
Research on artificial structures to improve the fertility of coastal areas
Research on tourism and regional revitalization through rich coastal ecosystems

Technical Strengths

The LIVERNESS Research Fund has operated since 2009 as an open research grant program for all of Japan and six Southeast Asian countries (Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam).
A system for informing young researchers and soliciting research applications has been established, and the Tidal Basin Foundation Award has attracted numerous applications related to marine ecosystem and environmental assessment and approaches for restoration.
