TASUKI -TASUKI Project for assessing biodiversity in the hydrosphere

summary
The TASUKI Project, conducted by Fishpath Corporation, Focus Systems Corporation, and Liverness Corporation, is challenging the assessment of aquatic biodiversity together with junior and senior high school students, who are the next generation of researchers.
The program conducts exhaustive species analysis from water sampling samples while incorporating environmental DNA techniques that are not easily accessible. The program is operated as an experience program for participants to experience the process of interpreting data and scientific discussion based on the obtained survey results, and to arrive at "discoveries that no one knows about yet" on their own.
Through research and study activities, we aim to foster the next generation who can recognize the richness of nature and act on it by exploring the current state of the global environment, which is home to diverse living creatures, and its connection to human society.
Technical Strengths
Environmental DNA analysis is a technique to estimate the species of organisms present in the vicinity by pumping water from a study area and analyzing the DNA contained in the water.
As academic partners in this program, the Regional Collaboration Division of Fukui Prefectural University and the Center for Biodiversity Science and Technology of Ryukoku University are also cooperating to assess the biodiversity of lakes and rivers.
The technology also allows for analysis in the sea area.
