Development of "Marine Reclamation Materials

summary
Aiming to create an infiltration substrate that contributes to the flourishing of seaweed, a demonstration test of "marine reclamation materials" made from naturally occurring materials is being conducted. Daiken Kogyo, which has been involved in the development and manufacture of various interior construction materials, is responsible for the development of the marine reclaimed materials, while RIVANES and Taisei Ready-mixed Concrete are cooperating in the planning and monitoring of the project.
Through this demonstration and its future development as a business, the project aims to contribute to the restoration and conservation of marine life and the marine environment, and to promote the richness of the oceans.
Several types of materials with different structures and components have been developed, and the first demonstration test is being conducted in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture, with the goal of verifying a more effective method for seaweed propagation. During the demonstration period, Taisei Ready-mixed Concrete will be used as the main component to investigate the recovery and creation trends, and to conduct analysis for the development of new materials that will contribute to marine restoration.
