TASUKI -襷- Project" to Assess Aquatic Biodiversity together with the Next Generation: First Participating Schools Report the Results of Six Months of Activities to the Local Fisheries Cooperative Association

 (Head office: Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture; President: Naruhiro Nishimura), Focus Systems Corporation (Head office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Kei Mori), and LEVANES Corporation (Head office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and COO: Shuichiro Takahashi; hereinafter "LEVANES") are participating in TASUKI -襷 (headquartered in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Shuichiro Takahashi, President and COO; hereinafter "Rivanes"), together with its academic partners, the University of Fukui Regional Collaboration Division (based in Yoshida-gun, Fukui Prefecture; Keiji Kitajima, General Manager) and Ryukoku University Research Center for Biodiversity Science (based in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture; Hiroki Yamanaka, Director), which are research support organizations for junior and senior high school students participating in the TASUKI -襷- Project (hereinafter "the Project"), This project is a challenge to assess aquatic biodiversity together with the next generation from June 1, 2024.

 

 On March 20, 2025, Tokyo Metropolitan Tachikawa Senior High School and Tokyo Metropolitan Musashi Senior High School, the first participating schools, presented the results of their six-month survey of the Tama River system at a meeting of the general assembly of the Akigawa Fishery Cooperative Association, which is responsible for the management and maintenance of the system.

 Through this project, we will continue to expand our efforts to explore the current state of the global environment, which is home to diverse living creatures, and its connection to human society, with the aim of fostering the next generation to become aware of the richness of nature and to act accordingly.

We plan to conduct a second phase of this project and look forward to your participation.
