VISION

The circulation between sea and land is in harmony.
Building social systems

As long as we continue to live on the earth, we draw a great deal from the ocean, a place with which we cannot remain indifferent, mainly in the form of marine resources. On the other hand, the return flow from land to sea is distorted by the damming of the flow of nutrients from land to sea in the form of seawalls and septic tanks, and by the discharge of garbage, especially plastic.
In order to change this current situation and create a state where the cycles between the ocean and land are in harmony, we need to learn more about the ocean and gather science and technology to solve each problem one by one. We will gather various kinds of knowledge, develop new technologies, and think about and create sustainable ways to interact with the ocean. That is the purpose of this project.

Learn more about the ocean

What is the topography of the seafloor and how is the bottom sediment distributed?
How do tides flow, carry heat and salt, and affect/receive their surroundings?
How are benthic organisms, seaweeds and seagrasses dependent on the marine environment?
Where are plankton and seafood born and where do they migrate?
How do living creatures relate to each other and support each other's lives?

In the LVNS Ocean Project,
We are promoting research to learn more about these issues.

Restore seaweed beds

The result of changes in the marine environment due to reduced nutrient inflows from land to sea,
Beginning with the reduction of seaweed and seagrass growing areas,
Major changes are occurring in marine ecosystems.
To turn this situation around, new flows from the terrestrial to the marine
It is necessary to make

In the LVNS Ocean Project,
We are promoting efforts to restore seaweed and seagrass habitats.

Reducing Marine Litterstructuring

Huge amounts of waste generated on land are being discharged into the ocean.
Its volume continues to increase, reaching deep into the ocean.
In order to reduce marine debris, it is necessary to develop technologies as well as to create a mechanism to turn the activity itself into a business and expand it independently.

In the LVNS Ocean Project,
We promote the creation of mechanisms to reduce marine debris.

Community.make up (one's face, etc.)

In order to sustainably live with the ocean,
ourselves and into the next generation.
We need to change "how we interact with the ocean."

In the LVNS Ocean Project,
In terms of marine litter reduction, ocean restoration, and ocean research
We promote community building.
